Contains English and CJK support as well.

For install instruction to load any carrier 8900 OS on your BB:

1. Download desired OS to your PC
2. Install/run OS to PC
3. Delete vendor.xml file. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Connect BB to Desktop Manager and it should prompt the upgrade. If not click app loader and that should initialize it.
5. Do not unplug BB during the process. It will take around 30-60 minutes to complete upgrade.

Your recommended bb version OS v4.6.1.199 (EastAsia) OFFICIAL Contains English and CJK support -> what do you mean by CJK. Any Chinese characters supported in a certain bb version?

Chinese, Japanese, and Korean (hence CJK) fonts support and input methods are included in EastAsia and AllLanguage version of OSes for all devices.

So if you install this one, it should have support for Chinese characters!

Only issue I have seen on this release is the battery life is not as good as the .174 version.

I'm trying to get it - new OS - and a new 8900 on the way in about 2-3 hours

. Had to get a replacement for mine *this one is back on .114 for today for the return.*

All went smooth for me. From the download (U.S.) to the upgrade. The upgrade actually was the quickest I've experienced with BB devices.

its hard to say if they changed anything from the "beta" to the official...all official means is a carrier released it(asia-pacific) in this case, so maybe its different or the exact same hard to guess
