Default Latest OS: 8900 4.6.1.241/4.6.1.152 (Multilanguage)??????

Latest OS: 8900 4.6.1.241/4.6.1.152 (Multilanguage)

Mobily

I have seen this somewhere else today, and I thought I would ask...

Has anyone tried it yet?

What are the improvements/differences?

What does anyone think of it?

Is it worth the trouble to upgrade from .114 (works well for me).

After surfing the forums and trying to figure out what will work for me, I found that the hybrid O/S of 4.6.1.133 with radio files from 4.6.1.114 worked out great! Everything seems to be moving very smoothly and after a check with previous problems, I found that I have none. So with that said, I plan to stay with this O/S for awhile. I also top out with about 134mb as well. Thanks to this website, I'm able to make my berry work for me.

I agree, I think .133 was probably the best OS for the 8900 so far. Once you T-mobile guys used the hybrid radios that made it great for you guys as well.

.158 is the build for OS .94. We are all talking about the same thing.

Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8900 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.217 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.1.217
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.1.133
* Software Platform: 4.2.0.85
* File name: 8900M_PBr4.6.1_rel217_PL4.2.0.85_A4.6.1.133_F100.e xe
* File size: 121.47MB

Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 8900:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

BlackBerry Curve 8900 / 4.6.1.133 / BIS (+BES over WiFi)
Well I did all that and the loader.exe does nothing (no new updates)
The DM shows the new OS but then says the same thing. I've uninstalled, reinstalled the OS to my PC I've gone several times to delete the Vender file and checking to make sure it was gone, but to no avail. I give up!
I'm at at lost here. My current version is 4.6.1.114
It shows both in the DM. What now??? Any help would be cool.

Make sure you are using version 4.6 desktop manager, also, there's a newer OS version in the stickies.

I got it. I installed .168 with desktop manager v4.7 for some reason it wouldn't take the .133. I think, after reading more of the forum, I probably should have wiped it or cleaned it out first. After I uninstalled .133 from my PC it took .168 fine. No probs as of yet. Just seems a tad slower for the apps to come up.

Thanks
