8900 OS: v4.6.1.133 (Multilanguage)
From Wind (EU) ; this will load on any carrier's 8900 device.
Software For BlackBerry® Curve (TM) 8900 smartphone
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.1.217 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 4.6.1.217
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.6.1.133
* Software Platform: 4.2.0.85
* File name: 8900M_PBr4.6.1_rel217_PL4.2.0.85_A4.6.1.133_F100.e xe
* File size: 121.47MB
Download OS here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...AC29810B924ACA
Instructions for installing either version on ANY carrier's 8900:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

It is no longer a BETA OS and that is why it should be posted as a OFFICIAL release from WIND.

Thanks for the Information Din.
Upgrading!
And hope that this OS is better than the .114 Version. But the Beta Threads predict my hopes.

The steps in the big "Proper Upgrade/Downgrade Procedure" thread is a little different than what's in this thread:
"#1 Backup your device with Desktop Manager2
#2 Backup your third party applications 2
#3 Download the desired device OS
#4 Uninstall all prior OSes from your PC (Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Uninstall Prior OS versions!)
#5 Install the OS to your PC (run the .exe file)
#6 Delete the vendor.xml file (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader)
#7 Wipe your handheld HowTo Wipe with JL_cmdr or use CrackMem"
So do I need to do #4 and #7 for the .133 upgrade? - 01-30-2009, 07:24 PM #18
Man, I installed 133 last Sunday, as a beta, and my battery hasn't fully drained since Sunday.
I don't know what RIM did, but they did something good!
As it's been said earlier, if I installed 133 should I be updating to this? I mean it must be the same thing or else it would have a different release number. - 01-30-2009, 08:05 PM #19

Well I just wiped my phone and re-installed this os. The 2 problems I had were annoying me. The first was the battery life, which Is too early to test. And the 2nd was wordwrap not working correctly. Wordwrap still isn't working. Is there some type of setting that I am overlooking here? I'm backing up my third party apps, and creating a backup. Using crackmem to optimize memory. Then restoring both...I'm guessing my battery life isn't going to improve either. Sad days
