Default 8900 DM problem

First of all sorry if this has been answered before.
I just got my first BB, an 8900.
It works ok but with a little problem. It detects any new microsd card i insert and the phone is able to read the content like an mp3 for example but my desktop manager does not see the card attached to the phone and i cannot browse the content from DM.
I can set the card as default memory for pictures and thephone uses the card with no problem but DM refuses to see it's there.
Does anybody know how can i solve this?

Thanks.

What version of DM are you using? And what exactly are you trying to do? If you're just trying to browse the media card or add/remove photos, music, documents etc by hand, then no, DM won't do that - you need to use Windows Explorer. But if you're trying to use the DM media sync features, that's a different story.

I'm using the latest version of DM. The card is accesesible to the BB, i can read and write from it(i can play an mp3 from the card cand i can set the card as default memory for pictures). If i go to "files" in dm i only see the phone memory not the card as other 8900s do, and also, in options->memory i cannot set the "mass storage mode support" to ON, it is grey-ish and says off and has a little golden lock next to it. And i have no ideea why that is.

Sounds like the device has an IT Policy on it that is blocking Mass Storage Mode.

Did you purchase the device used?
Are you on a BES?

I bought an used BB. If BES has something to do with "enterprise server" then i'm not using. Also i'm not using any data services. A few hours ago i tried downgradind and upgrading again but both versions failed to resolve the issue.

Go into the "How To" forum and find the thread titled "Remove IT Policy".

Follow those steps.
