It really depends on where you live. I like T-Mobile. I don't want to criticize any other company, but I have great coverage in the Denver, and they have great prices. I pay $50 less than a friend with VZW who has the same exact coverage. Ask around with people you know about how coverage is in your area.

No one knows for sure if/when AT@T will release the 8900. They may end up skipping the 8900 and go straight to the 9220 which is a 3G and touchscreen version of the 8900. As another oiption you can switch to AT@T and get a Bold for the new customer price then unlock and sell it online. Take the money from that and then purchase an unlocked 8900 online.

However, there was some talk about AT&T already having the 8900, but T-Mobile has some type of exclusive intro time... but no one knows how long that will be.
I'm sure if you stay around here long enough you will see it released... why not, they just release the 8320!!! - 01-25-2009, 02:00 PM #6
Here it goes: From what I've gathered, T-Mobile has an exclusive on the device. The time period is unknown and can range anywhere from 30 to 180 days dependant upon sales. AT&T HAS tested the unit and according to a Waterloo ninja (BB214 over at BGR), AT&T already has the units in hand and is waiting to sell them. The launch may be delayed even well after the T-Mobile exclusivity, just like AT&T sat on the 8320 for some 4 months or so. We all need to wait for an announcement of some sort.

One never knows who is going to release what, I view the 8900 as an interim device until the Bold comes to T-Mo as it's 3G offering from Rim. Who knows, I may find the 8900 to be the "one" when I get it tomorrow. I know that for me, T-Mo's UMA calling is the best deal in the world. I only use a couple hundred plan minutes a month because none of my home and work minutes count against my plan as I have WiFi at both locations. My wife LOVES the extra minutes this gives her
