Articles [at the top] > Blackberry OS > scroll down till you see Leak for 9000 and 8900. There should be a link somewhere in the forum of how to install it without destroying your phone. I just did it on my phone last night and love it. The only bug I have is that I can not lock my keyboard, but you can still put it on standby. So, if you like the lock the keyboard, I suggest rethinking

5.0.0.411 is the official release - you can find a sticky thread at the top of this forum with everyone's feedback on it. It's the OS that I'm running and I love it!
There has been a leak since the official release (5.0.0.461) you can find a thread about it here - http://forums.crackberry.com/f95/5-0...indings-414026
From what I have read it is faster than the official release and does have some other improvements but as Jell-oMan says above it seems that the keyboard lock button on the top left does not work with this release.
My advice is have a read through the forums and make your mind up.Last edited by ST_Temps; 02-03-2010 at 03:20 AM.

The non functional KB lock is a deal breaker for me as I use it a lot! Once that gets fixed then I will upgrade..

People said it functions, you just have to have a password set.

When iPhone fanboys stop trying to compare their toys to our BlackBerrys, I will gladly change my sig

You are free to ignore it if it bothers you, there are plenty of sigs I don't like either. But what I hate most of all is iPhone threads. The lesson we learned from iPhone: People who can't walk and chew gum at the same time don't need a phone that can multitask...nobody likes a phone to be smarter than they are

You must have a special, one of a kind,*widescreen* edition 8900... your sig says it's 640 x 360.
If you're gonna stomp, make sure the specs are accurate. Just sayin'...

EDIT: As to the OP's question, I'd suggest you look at 5.0.0.411. I've been running it for a while, very stable. The latest release .461 is getting good reviews as far as speed and memory management but like others, the lock button issue is a non-starter for me. If that gets fixed/addressed in a future release, I'll move to that. For now, I'm sticking with .411.Last edited by shabbs; 02-03-2010 at 10:42 AM. Reason: Answering the OP's question

Maybe my .sig is too long for you guys with short attention span? Read it again.

I said my Nokia 5800 stomps your iPhone. It does have a 640x360 screen. The point is, iPhone gets trampled by a lowly Nokia...when it tries to go up against a BlackBerry...fuggedaboutit! Not even in the same league.Last edited by F0nage; 02-03-2010 at 11:02 AM.
