Updating unlocked Blackberry?

Hello forum,

I was recently given a Blackberry Curve 8520 and I got it unlocked so I could use it in my country with my SIM card, I want to update the software on it, I´ve tried using the Blackberry Desktop Software to update it but it will not, so my question is:

Is it possible to update an unlocked Blackberry?

Please help forum!!!

This method is preferred by many of us over using DM. Be sure to download the lastest OS for your phone (8520) and not the OS for any other model. Good luck.

You will need to download the carrier OS and delete vendor.xml file and then go through Desktop Software.

By following the update instructions you can update the OS of your unlocked Blackberry curve safely.

When you unlock Blackberry Curve 8520 it stays unlocked forever and you can update and wipe your unlocked Blackberry whenever it's needed.
