unlocking cdma no imei either

The phone is 8530 Curve, locked to KOODO, it is CDMA and I am trying to unlock it. When I use a service, they ask for a '15 digit' imei # but mine is 18 digits. I have tried to enter *#06# but it does nothing. I know this is the correct number as it matches under the battery compartment. I also can't get the MEP # because it's not GSM, there is no sim card with it, since it's CDMA. Very frustrating! Please help!!!!!

You canNOT "unlock" the 8530 because as you already noted it's a CDMA only device and does not have a SIM card.

What exactly are you trying to do with the device?

Switchbeach is correct. Only gsm/hspa devices can be unlocked. CDMA are ESN based and do not use sim cards.

ok, that's what I figured but it was worth a try. Koodo said they could unlock it but it would cost $48.00 to do it. Not worth it since the next carrier would probably charge a connection fee also. Better off getting a new or slightly used HSPA/GSM phone.
