Default Unlocked or not?

Hello Crackberrians!

Yesterday I bought a Blackberry 8520 locally that I am going to sell on eBay. The phone does not have any carrier logo on it, it does not have any bloatware loaded either. When I called AT&T to have it activated on my account (I wanted to make sure it was completely functional before selling it) the rep said their system didn't recognize the IMEI as a Blackberry and said "unknown manufacturer". I told her it was a Blackberry Curve 8520 so she would get me on the Blackberry data plan (I had been using my Android). Is there any way to tell if this is an unlocked phone that could be used on AT&T AND T-Mo? I can't find anything in the literature that came with the phone or on the box that says its an unlocked phone. Where can I find out for sure? That would be helpful for selling it.

Thanks!

Options-Advanced Options-sim card then hold shift and type mepd
then you will see 5 locking catorgories:
Sim
Network
Network subset
Service provider
Corporate
Now if all of these 5 options have disabled next to them it is unlocked.

IF they are all disabled then your Blackberry has no active SIM lock.
So in other words your device is unlocked and can be used with any GSM carrier..
