Is there a way 2 speed up download speed?

I have a curve 8520 on vodacom and the internet and download speed is slow as heck...is there any way to accelerate download speed without paying for an app that probably doesn't work?

Clear your cache routinely.
On the home screen, press and hold ALT and then type LGLG, then open the menu and select "Clear Log".
Also, delete the applications you don't use.
