Sim Card Error SOS

Hi all,

This is my first post. My Blackberry curve 8520 keeps on giveing me intermittent error messages. Mainly when I try to send a text I ge a stack protocol error but most of the time I am getting Sim card error. I have tried the sim card in another phone and it appears to work no problems. Also when I get the error messages I remove the battery (and have also on occasion removed the sim card to ). When I put them back in all works fine blackberry goes through start up and then software check which says ok but after a period of time, less than an hr, error messages start to appear again. In my area I can get Orange as well as T -mobile signals and I get full strength most of the time.

Is there a software fix that I could do myself as the phone is out of warranty.
