Default Set up hotmail on 8520

I'm confused. Just received BB. Out of the box, go to setup email in the setup wizard but I'm only given the option to set up with work email address via BIS/BES. I've read the little manual and it says it should give me two options, the work one and one for setting up email for google/yahoo/hotmail etc. Why am I not seeing this option? Do I need to set up blackberry desktop manager and sync with pc first before doing so? I'm new to this, so please forgive me

Welcome to the world of Blackberry.

Do you have a Blackberry Data Plan (BIS, Blackberry Bolt addon, whatever it is called on Orange UK)? If you do, head to BlackBerry Internet Service and create an account. Follow the steps there and you'll be able to add your emails. When you're done, you should start receiving your stuff on the device shortly

Sorry. Need BIS for almost any data-related features.

You can look for apps that work over WiFi.

Or fallback to the browser (again over WiFi).

    SO SORRY!

I misunderstood your question. Yes, just ring Orange and ask them for it. I think it's an extra £5/month.

Yep, once you get BIS activated you'll be able to set-up your email. And welcome!

Thank you so much for your help. I called Orange and spoke to them and they have set me up with an account for free so I'll be able to go ahead and use my BB fully once my activation message has come through! Thanks for the help, I honestly didn't have a clue :P

Oh and I forgot, for hotmail there's an extra step for you to do before you actually recieve any mail. At least I had to, since I set it up directly on my phone and not my pc, I went to email setup>edit hotmail account and at the bottom there was an option to use MSN's mobile services or something like. There's a step-by-step of how to do it in the forums, just to let you know!
