Separating and sorting message folders
Hi, I have just got my Blackberry and am having a problem with my message folders. I wanted everything streamed into the main message folder, so I went into Options then Inbox Settings and ticked all options. Then I went into my 2 separate email folders and the SMS/MMS folder for my text messages and ticked only the boxes relevant to each of them.
Having finished by ticking the box in the SMS folder, I go back to the main message folder inbox options and find only the SMS option ticked, with all the other options having been unticked!! It therefore appears that you can't separate the messages that way although I was led to believe by other forum posts that you could? I don't want all four folders showing everything that comes in
. (Btw the OS is 5, and the Curve is 8520.)
Thanks for any help. - 06-09-2012, 12:57 AM #2
When you are adjusting the inbox settings about which account to display you are only adjusting the MAIN inbox, not your individual inboxes.
So tick the option to show all messages then come out to the main home screen, highlight your sms inbox, press the menu key and select hide. Repeat again to hide the two email inboxes and leave you with your main message folder.
The main inbox is just combining all the views so messages are not in fact being pushed to two separate inboxes on your phone.
