Is it safe to use a magnetic holster case on blackberry?
Is it safe to use this kind of case? When I put the phone on it, the backlights also automatically turns off..it's a magnetic holster case...will it affect the phone in the future?

I always felt the magnetic holsters were most appropriate for the "Bold" models that has contacts on the bottom edge of the device ...
with the 85xx I wonder what they'll do ... - 06-22-2012, 07:09 PM #4
The phones are all DESIGNED to be used in magnetic holsters, and all of RIM's own OEM holsters have similar magnets.
It's one of my favorite BB features; easily allows for different behavior. Might be replaced by NFC, but I wonder at whether it will be as reliable. - 06-22-2012, 07:14 PM #5

When you put a BlackBerry in a holster with magnet, it goes into Holster Mode, a mode that is designed to save battery and to free unused memory for you.
It is only good for your BB (and for you when the battery last longer).BB10: MyProfilesPro, ShortcutMe 10, FlashLightPro, BBM Connected, NFC Enabled, Native Apps for Z10
