Question Problem Upgrading Blackberry Curve 8520 OS

I have v.4.6.1.314. I want it to be v5.0. I tried it, deleted the vendor.xml file and it worked however when I looked at the options > about, it still appears to be v.4.6. Anyone?

    Thanks for the pictures.

Loader didn't see the OS update. Disconnect the BB from the PC and check if vendor.xml is back. Delete it again if necessary.

If it didn't work, reboot the pc and try again. If still no luck, uninstall all OS versions and reboot (remember to only plug the BB when you run loader). Reinstall the 5.0 you wanna update to (don't forget to delete vendor.xml again) and, with your internet disconnected, plug the device.

    Good luck.

I had the same problem with my 8310 at times, but I found that if I used BBSAK (a desktop tool for blackberries) and selected "Load OS" from the menu, it did find the new OS.
Hope it works out, OS 5.0 is great
