Default Only have Hotstpot (wi-fi) Browser, no long have Internet Browser

I can no longer go on the internet. Yikes! I don't even have any bars anymore. I've had the data capability for 2 years now on this bb (8530), OS 5, and suddenly it stopped working and asked me to sign in with my blackberry id but now I can't.

I've done a security wipe, I've updated via pc with the bb desktop manager and I've reset the phone via CDMA screen (##231898).

I've spoken to four live advisors at my provider's call center (Virgin Mobile) and nothing has I've tried has added back my data services. Now they say my only option is to buy a new phone as mine's out of warranty. wth?

My phone works fine. I can receive and send texts as well as phone calls. But I can no longer set up email, go online, or go to app world but I'm still paying for unlimited data service.

There's just the "hotspot browser" (for wi-fi) and I need the "internet browser"! There is just that one option now to choose from and there's no way to delete it either.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide

Susan

Did you (or the Virgin Mobile people) try resending the Service Books?

Resending the Service Books? I've not heard about doing that b4. Can you please tell me how?

I can't just go out and buy another phone like this so I really want to fix it myself. Sadly I have to speak to 5 or 6 people just to get an advisor who knows more than I do.

I've been brand loyal to Blackberry for many years so I hope that together with some help from Crackberry that we can get it back in optimum working order!.

Thanks

Go to the Email Settings/Setup icon. Press the Menu button. Select "Service Book". Select "Send Service Books".

Thanks for your suggestion but that is not an option on my phone. I tried that and tons more before I initially picked up the phone to call my provider.

In Setup on the Home folder, I clicked on Setup Wizard, I then hit the menu button on highlighted Email Setup: I got only Switch Application, Close were my options.

I went to Options, Advanced Options, Service Book... same exact thing.

Could someone PLEASE help me?

I'm looking for a good Blackberry Guru. My provider can't help me. They said to buy another phone. I can make phone calls and I can text but can no longer do anything else on my BB. After 2 years it stopped all data services and the internet browser disappeared.
-----------------------------------------

Has anyone else had this problem where you only have wi-fi capabilities even though only your Mobile Connection is turned on? I lost my internet options and no one seems to know how to get it back. BIS and BES are not connected.

Sure is effing frustrating.

Clicking on the Service Book in Advanced Options are two lines (both with a check in the beginning):

Wi-Fi TCP/IP Browser [ BrowserConfig ]
Wi-Fi TCP/IP Transport [ WPTCP ]

When I view each of these and then click Show HRT, I go there and only see * No Entries *

I'm losing my freaking mind, I tell you! But I'm obsessed in fixing this phone.

Thanks, guys.

Hi try options/Host routing table then using bb menu button go to register Now.
If this does not work as a last resort you may have to go and do a factory reset.

Thanks so much for your suggestion. When I do the Register Now I immediately get this error msg saying "Registration message queued. It will be sent once data coverage is available"

A Factory Reset sounds like the only thing left to do and I'm assuming it's more intense than a Security Wipe. I've pretty much exhausted all other possibilities at this point.

Okay... I'm off to search how to do a Factory Reset.

Again, thanks so much for your suggestion! All you guys here are super smart and helpful .
