I was using my BB on the Vodaphone South Africa network, gave it to my wife to use , she is on Virgin Mobile South Africa, but now she onlt gets signal in edge , but not in CAPS, so her BBM and BIS wont work, any ideas?

I remember my buddy having the same problem with his unlocked bold 9900. It was a sprint branded phone that he was trying to use on tmobiles network. I forget what the process was to fix it now, but it can be easily found in the forums somewhere. I don't know if it would help you at all though.

It's a service books problem.. When you switch a SIM card on unlocked Blackberry device you get the new number in use for calls and SMS but the data plan should be activated and then the service books should be reinstalled.
So try this - Go to:
Options > Advanced options > Host routing table
Press the "Blackberry" menu button and select "Register now".
It should activate the data services, if it won't help then contact your carrier.

It usually happens to me when i'm due on the data plan payments(not that often tough).

It means u dont have access to BIS anymore.

Restart 2 or 3 times, wait a little and if it still doesnt work, contact the service provider.
