In my previous Thread I found out that the Blackberry 8530 will have to be "Flashed" in order to work with BoostMobile. Does anyone know how to do this, or of any links, instructions, software, websites, or persons that know how to do this?

Boost Mobile is owned by Sprint. It is possible to switch Sprint phones over to Boost, but you cannot activate a Boost Account with a Sprint phone. You have to first setup an account with Boost with one of their phones, then call c/s and have them switch the phone over. No flashing is required. BUT!! You will not be able to get the $60 BB plan that Boost offers. That is ONLY for the Boost branded Curve 8330. You can use the $50 unlimited plan, but you will not have BIS. So things like BBM will not work. Check out HowardForums: Your Mobile Phone Community & Resource for all the info.

Did you ever get your phone issue resolved? I too have this very same phone. I have Sprint service on this one, but also have Boost on another one (i9). I wanted to switch off the sprint account totally, but don't know how to do this either.

Has anyone actually done this??? As according to Boost (and Boot's BB Dept) they will not allow the use of any phone that is not a Boost phone. I called today to try to set up my Sprint BB on the $50 plan and was told they can not do it as the serial number would not be recognized on their servers (and they refuse to add it of course so that we are forced to buy a Boost phone). I also asked about transferring a Boost number to my BB and they refused as it's not a Boost device.
