Default The mystery of the auto-downgrading 8530

Hi all. The weirdest thing happened to me and I'm not sure how it happened.

I have an 8530 from VMUSA. When I got it just over 2 months ago, it came installed with 5.0.0.1030.

Lately, I noticed that my memory booster program was acting a bit weird, so i decided to check the OS version. To my surprise, when i checked, it showed that my BB was running version 5.0.0.601! I have not touched my blackberry in terms of upgrading or downgrading it in any way, shape or form.

Is it possible for this device to downgrade itself?!?

Any ideas how this could have happened?

It can't upgrade or degrade the OS on it's own, even if they pushed an Over The Air update, you would have to approve it first.
Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear.

Have you plugged it into Desktop Manager at all? You may have accidentally downgraded without realizing.

Jared, it could be that that's what happened. I'm re-updating to .1030 now.
