    Default My 8530 only access internet when its wi-fi connected

    Can someone help me figure out why i can only access the internet when its wi-fi connected please?

    Have you called Sprint Customer Service? Try resending your service books. Always try a battery pull first when you have problems with the device.

    Perhaps you aren't in an area that provides data? (ie: roaming?)
    What does your signal strength say, 1x? 1X? 1XEV?

    You may have to search the forums a bit, you've either got something turned off, or not in a coverage area.
    First suggestion you'll get is to pull the battery for 5 mins and replace thereby rebooting the phone.
    Also, if you 've just activated, it takes a little while for all the services to be provisioned to your phone.

    No I havent contacted sprint yet...I just figured it was an option on the phone that needed to be changed but ill try the battery pull then contact sprint

    My signal should be good its 1xev....and it was activated yesterday so i think it should be working properly now

    im sorry im not familiar with 'BIS'

    1Xev means you aren't going to get data. 1XEV is what you need. You should contact your carrier and ensure you have a "BIS data plan".
