Making 853 Faster
Hi there. Haven't been on here for a while.. I use to have a 8330 with Sprint, then we switched to Verizon. When I had the 8330 I knew there was a shortcut to erase the phone info for the day.. It was ALT--->and I don't remeber the rest. Then you erased the stuff it had on the screen it gave you and my phone ran better. I did it EVERYDAY reliogously. And I also did a battery pulll....
So I need help remembering that command for my new BB!!! - 10-16-2010, 10:16 PM #2
Are you talking about clearing the cache or memory logs? If so, it's ALT (hold) + LGLG. But I don't think that'd affect the phone's performance, I don't know. If you really want to improve your phone's performance, updating the OS would probably do it.

It WILL give you .1mb of memory back. I KNOW its TOUGH to do BUT NOT USING ALL those social networks or 3rd party apps. frees your memory also. LOL. More memory=betterBerry!!!...OH AND (alt+ (right)aA+del battery "pull" check your files...you CAN'T delete the SAMPLES (SADLY)

I had an 8330 I LOVED all those short cuts. The alt+aA+del IS the same as a battery pull. I got an OtterBox on my 8530. Its tough to "pull" the battery. Wanna be sure it IS the same? I did. DON'T do a restart after you delete an app. Do the short cut instead. That's how I KNEW for sure. NOT that I didn't trust folks on CB. Just wanted to be SURE.

I'd say ALT+CAPS+DEL and battery pull are ALMOST the same. If it's an OS issue, I'd do the ALT+CAPS+DEL method. If any of my phone's hardware's messing up or something, or just not working, I'd do a battery pull.
Think about it this way. Battery pull is like yanking your computer's cord. It stops the flow of electricity on the motherboard and resets your computer's OS. ALT+CAPS+DEL is like restarting your PC using the regular method, it resets the PC but doesn't actually stop the flow of electricity, it just resets the OS.
And RWWackoStu, I didn't know the ALT+CAPS+DEL method is called the "three finger salute"..

Better than the one finger salute (or 2 if your British)!

When in doubt; If things are acting weird; OR just because; PULL THE BATTERY. In my year and a half as a BB addict (3 BB's) it is the #1 answer on crackberry.com!!!!!
