Default little dark spots on my screen ??

I never noticed until yesterday. I was looking at my screen while it was loaging a page, I looked at it at an angle, from the bottom, where the screen looked like a "negative" copy. White turned greyish. But I saw two dark spots, darker than the grey. Like if it was bent or something. I felt the screen to see if it was bent but didn't notice anything. Could this be the screen itself, or the plastic covering it? Looking at it straight forward, nothing is visible. Just when looking at it from the bottom. I'll see if I can post pics later on to show what I'm trying to say. In the meantime, any recommendatios, opinions, and comments are appreciated.

Could be some of your pixels dying. Its hard to say without seeing it. If it is, and its still under warranty, which Im sure it is-I would def take it back.

I'd agree with pilsbury, seems like a dead pixel to me.

But wouldn't a dead pixel (or two) be more evident looking straight on versus at an angle? I'm curious as to if it may just be the way the way the plastic screen is applied to the actual LCD, but that is just a guess. Mine looks kind of weird at an angle also, but I figure it must be the effect of the Defender screen protector, then the plastic screen, and then the LCD? Since it looks great when viewing head on, I'm not concerned at this point.

Sorry I haven't posted pics yet. Couldn't find my camera's charger. But I don't think it's a dead pixel. The dark areas are too big and the screen does look nice and new when looking at it directly. I hope my case is the same as kwkid's :S
Thanks guys. I atleast feel less concerned

I also have a dark spot right in the middle of my screen. It is very noticeable when I look at it against a white background. Its pretty annoying

Do you see it looking at the screen directly head-on or do you have to hold it at an angle?

I have the 8530 no dark spots. But my buddies 8520 has two dark spots, which can also only be seen when the screen is white and also when tilted.

The lens didn't catch it completely. it actually looks darker, just a tiny bit. And in the second pic you can see that a head-on glance doesn't show it.

Wanted to add that you can only see it from the bottom. The sides and top don't show the spots, which is really weird :S

i had the exact same problem with my sprint 8530. i took it into the store and they replaced it because it was still under warranty. the cs rep that i dealt with said that he had seen this a couple of times already, so it must bea pretty common problem with the 85XX series.

It is a pressure mark. I have it on my BlackBerry and it sucks.

It actually doesn't get in the way of anything. I don't want to return it since it's not really visible unless you hold it at that angle.
I kinda figured it'd be pressure marks because sometime I have it in my jeans front pocket and when I get in the car I feel the phone press into my leg. Guess I gotta be more careful :/

Were you able to see those spots directly or did you have to hold your phone at an angle? Because my screen is still bright and shows colors perfectly. I hope my screen doesn't die

I have a similar phenomenon and based on where they are I attribute it to the magnet that closes the flap on my holster...

I have a single dark spot on the lower right side of my screen that is visible while viewing a light screen straight on. It doesn't affect the way my BB works or anything, but it is a bit distracting at times. Hopefully its nothing as bad as my screen is dying or anything.

Does anyone know the warranty period for these phones? I don't have my information handy so I can look it up.

Mine isn't noticable at all when looking straight at the screen. It has to be at that angle from the bottom. Hopefully it doesn't become more serious
As for warranty, it's usually 30 days to return/exchange with carrier and 1 year warranty with manufacturer. And some people get insurance to extend that warranty period. I'm past my 30 days but have 6 more months of warranty

Something frequent. I took mine in a few weeks ago, and the sprint store was going to "repair" it. well, they actually gave me a new phone, because the "Lady Tech" somehow managed to break my screen. ( Dont ask how) And so far, my new model is fine. It's something that is going on with these phones. I'd say, if you want, take it in and see. If not, keep using it. When i asked Sprint, they said its frequent and did what they did.
