Exclamation I am about to pull my hair out! Is the BB dead or nuked? Help please!

My sister's phone came up with the error message 'JVM 517 error'
She was told that this meant it was nuked.
Being absolutely useless with technology she passed it onto me to sort out. Wish I hadn't bothered.
I followed How to Reload the Operating System on a Nuked or Bricked BlackBerry | CrackBerry.com this information and I thought it had worked! The Blackberry rebooted and I thought it was mended. No such luck.
I kept doing it over and over again but now the damn thing won't even show up the white screen anymore. There is no red LED lights either.
I'm afraid that I may have made the bloody thing worse and I'm soooo cross!
Can anyone give me some advice on what's causing this and if it's fixable?
Try to keep it simple for me Thanks

Could be that there is an app that she has that is hosing it up. Maybe try the steps, but use the newest OS for the phone, and don't reload any of her 3rd party apps. Maybe try the security wipe as well, as long as you have a backup available.

Based on what you said it sounds like the battery may be drained. Plug her in and walk away and come back tomorrow.

Try removing the SIM and Memory cards and then wipe the phone using BBSAK and then try to load the OS. If it works then you can replace the SIM and memory card.
