Help needed with Wiping phone

Hello guys, and girls.
I have a problem that im sure many people have had ... but with a twist,

My sibling has recently given me her old Curve to repair, the problem was it wouldnt turn on, and displayed some error. I'm not totally computer or bb illiterate, so I knew i'd have to turn to programs such a BBSAK and such in order to wipe it, and then re install the OS.

Sadly, and this is where the problem arises, to use such programs I need to know the device password, however my sister has no idea what it is anymore.

Surely there's a way around this? As i've said, the phone doesnt load up far enough for me to guess the password wrong 10 times, removing it.

I've used a tool called "master code" before on other phones, where all u do is enter the imei and it will generate an unlock code. Don't knw if it will work on a BB though. I can send it to u if u like, just send me a private message with your info
