I was able to get access to my mep code to unlock my phone from vodaphone by getting access to the device info section on phone. When I was prompted to enter this when inserting a tesco sim it says the code isn't accepted. There is a dash in the code which I can't enter, could it be this? The mep code is 8 characters long. Please help as I only have 5 attempts left.

Instead of doing that try putting back the original Vodafone sim card in the phone then try these steps

Go to settings menu => and then Options
2. Select Advanced options => and then Sim card
3. Type MEPD using your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
4. Type MEP then [ALT BUTTON] then 2 on your Blackberry keyboard (NOTE: You will not see any text appear on the screen while typing MEPD)
5. You should be presented with a prompt "Enter Network MEP Code". Type in the unlock code and press in the trackball/trackpad to confirm
6. Your phone is now unlocked

After that, insert the Tesco sim card.
