Default HEEEEEEEEELP, I'm fokked :(

This morning I noticed that my phone got completely reset somehow, all data is gone (passwords, settings, phone book data etc.).
How could it possibly have happened overnight, what could have caused it and mainly, can I restore my phone book?

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE, help. I'm sooooooo upset.

Hope you've been making backups.

I agree with the previous poster that someone was trying to unlock your phone.

My wife, definately. I just changed access password yesterday because she figured out my old one. I never backed up anything on PC for the same reason. Why did it wipe out the memory? Can it be restored????? Please, help.

Yes.

1. Stop doing whatever you were/are doing that makes your wife suspicious.
2. Refrain from using profanity in public forums.
3. Make regular backups using the BlackBerry Desktop Software or BlackBerry Protect or SnapSecure if you have important information on your BlackBerry.

Otherwise, if you haven't made a backup, all your information is gone and cannot be restored.

So entering wrong password multiple times into one's blackberry is the way to wipe out all the memory?

Pretty much, but on some models it completely 'nukes' them and deletes the OS aswell.

That is a bb security feature. There is no way to restore it once it wipes itself.

You should still make backups using BlackBerry Desktop Software. There's an option to encrypt the backup file(s), and you can set a password for them.

just back everything up weekly that's what i do, just to be safe off you will have everything on the low.
when you need it, you can just grab it right away and start it from there.
i mostly do a backup with DM weekly if it's possible, but it's not always like that,
when i rush out many of the times.
BlackBerry protect didn't saved my 800+ ish contacts somehow i was wheew. all strange.
luckily i got a old backup file on DM which i could restore 700 contacts out of those 800.
