garbage text to another mobile.

First of all hi to all you fellow blackberry owners.

One of my contacts has said that instead of receiving legible texts when I text from my 8520 she has started receiving random characters. This has only started happening since returning from a trip to Singapore (I live in the UK) and it only ever happens with her phone, all other texts she receives are fine. Does anyone know what is happening and how I might fix this?

If you haven't already, delete her contact entirely, reboot, and reenter the contact info. That's all I can think of to suggest, and I don't know that it will solve the problem.

Is it just the one contact, and only text? I've seen similar once before, possibly. Could you post what the text looks like?

Maybe the character sets??? Its the best I can suggest.

Thanks for your replies. I have tried texting several times but the recipient in question always gets random characters. Before I went to Singapore it was fine. Everyone else I send texts to don't have any problems. I'm afraid I can't post what characters she receives as she lives too far away for me to see, though from her description it seems that it's a random combination of keyboard characters eg @%g5 *)££gh6.

She should be able to copy/paste the text she receives, and send it back to you, but.......

If it's only her, then I would have to assume it's something on her end. Have you changed anything regarding language on your phone?

Nothing was changed on my phone during the trip. I'll try to get her to send me a sample of the texts she receives (she's not very technology savvy though) Thanks for your help though. I'll keep you posted
