Does the phone save previous versions of files?

Hi - I lost data on my phone while syncing with my computer. Does the phone save previous versions of files when syncing, or does it just overwrite? If so, how do I find it? Thanks

The phone does not save any "previous data".

But if you did a back up to your computer (which you should do regularly), the backups will contain the data.
