Curve Power button issue

I have looked all over the internet and I havn't found anything like it :S

I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 fully charged and operational. However, to turn it off I use the Power button and its switches off without problem. However, the button is reluctant to turn the phone on at all and have to battery plug it to turn it back on.

Any ideas or explainations to why it wont turn it on but turns it off would be great.

Ive tried software removal and installation upgrading and dowgrading software removal of apps , security wipes the lot HELP !
