Curve 8530 on AT&t E-Mails Arrive in Batches

As it states in the title, I am having an issue with a curve. It is only collecting e-mails in batches. I have tried resetting it and that did not help much but it did a little bit. Any ideas? I am a very novice user and all help is greatly appreciated.

Describe exactly what you mean by "in batches". How frequently in minutes?

And what TYPE of emails are you talking about? GMail, Yahoo, other POP3, something else?
