Last week I split a drink on the phone, but it's not exactly an uncommon occurrence. With this phone and a my last 2 I usually take the battery out straight away and dry it out for a few days, after which it works perfectly. One BB has even been to the bottom of a swimming pool and still survived.

This time though my Curve 8520 won't connect to my mobile network (Orange). It picks up Wi-Fi perfectly and thus I can call and text via UMS when I'm at home (but not at university strangely). I gave it another day to dry but no difference, I imagine any physical damage is already done.

Is there anything I can try to resolve the program or maybe even some basic part replacement I could do. Any advice would be appreciated.

If I were on your shoes I would get a replacement phone for 48 hours just to not go by without one and immerse my 8520 in a bowl of rice for those same 48 hours, taking the back cover, battery, sim and sd card off. If after those 48 hours I still was facing the same problem then I would try to identify the demaged part(s) and get them fixed. Either by me or by someone at a local store.
