Carrier logo/splash scrren is not tied to the OS. You can put any 8520 OS on it as they're not carrier specific.
8130 -> 8330 -> 9530 -> 9550 -> 9630 -> 9650 -> 9930 -> iPhone4

The illegally obtained software cannot debrand an 8520 anyway. The newer devices cannot be debranded at all.

You can't change the splash screen but you can change the housing of the device. ( To remove the carrier logo on the bottom )

There have been some people who scratched off the carrier logo from the housing rather than changing the housing. http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/lab...-phone-542831/

We do not allow discussion of debranding here for twp reasons.
1). the software to do this was stolen from the manufacturer and they will persue anyone they find using or propagating it. We do not want them after us, thank you.
2). the software, unless used exactly right can permanently and irrrerversably turn your phone into a paperweight.
As you say, there is nothing wrong with asking. You did nothing wrong at all.
However I wonder if you are really asking about debranding. If all you want to do is to use your Vodafone branded phone on another network then, that's easy. Go and check over in the BlackBerry Unlocking forum. I'm sure someone over there will help you out.
