Default Curve 8520 BB Protect-No Location

Hello - please help! We have more than one Curve 8520 in the house as well as my Bold. All have BB Protect and are backed up regularly. All devise location is enbaled on all but only the Bold is located (I can send that dodgy alert ring tone to all when logged in to each account, but cannot locate no matter where the devise is located).

Is there another setting (that's not in BB Protect help) that we have missed? Could the carrier (all Vodafone) have locked it down?

I dont have much hair left to pull out - grateful for any pointers.

    Hopefully

The 8520 does not have an internal GPS chip.

As simple as that? thanks SwitchBeach. Does that mean i cannot wipe the unit if it ever became lost (you know what kids are like) too or is it completely independant?

It might be a daft question, but i'll ask anyway - is there an alternative app that i can load that doesnt require a GPS chip?
