charging port problems
heavy handed user has broken charging port off board - and in doing so has broken internal socket - new one is easy - £1 off ebay - but it also pulled off the internal pads - micro usb uses pin 1 and pin 5 for 5v and ground so those are all i am interested in i assume for charging - can live without data connection
does anybody have the [nearest or not so near] internal points on the circuit board as i will have to try and wire to those

you got the schematics already? If not then I can take a pic at work 2morrow and show you the +ve section...... the GND or negative pin can be soldered onto any section on the board that is grounded .......... even the metal part of the usb port itself it can be soldered onto.
The GND pin is the pin located to the utmost "top" pointing towards the upper section of the board when u position the USB port into placeCheck out the BlackBerry Phone Repairs website http://cellphonediary.com/ - 06-24-2012, 08:29 AM

thanks - no i have not found the schematics - i did a temp solder job and it works some of the time - the connector itself is damaged internally - have a new one to go in
the connector has 5 pins - i thought the top was unused - next was ground the next 2 data and the bottom one +ve - so are the top 2 ground
the small pads came off the board apart from the +ve - so i am not bothering with data - if i can get it to charge it will be fine
so following your post - if i can get the +ve to connect - the -ve can go to any pad or even just join the tiny connector on the usb connector to the body which will then give a good ground
