    Default blackberry browser SUPER SLOW

seems like just this last week if im not in wifi using my blackberry internet browser doesnt seem to open the 2 main websites I always look at. Most times it will open other sites fine like google.
Since 95% of my e mail come from these 2 sites it sucks waiting 2 min to get the message communication failure has occurred etc...

Now ive had opera installed from day 1 and it blows open any site within seconds even when not on wifi
so to me its not a reception problem
im not sure if I have to go through blackberry servers to get internet

    I have VM
I called and they made me wipe the phone clean, of course I lost all my contacts and e mail
But after like 2 hrs of trying to install everything or waiting for reboots I still have the same problem. They hung up on me saying give it an hour it should be faster, its been at least 3

If there was a way to make my e mail open opera I would not even care but as far as I can figure the default mail opener is the blackberry browser
Sure I can manually make the e mail open something else but I dont want to have to do extra steps now
im lazy and I shouldnt have to

so is there some problems recently with blackberry servers?
like once recently how the texts wernt going through on there end

Yes, there was an outage earlier today but it has been resolved, for the most part.

RIM said this (from the article):
Today, we experienced a service issue which may have affected some of our customers in certain parts of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Some minor issues relating to browsing and BlackBerry Messenger may still persist, but all other services are operating as normal. We apologize to any customers in these regions who may have been inconvenienced.
Users reporting BBM down, joins Instagram in being less social (update: RIM's on it)
Perhaps life is just that...a dream and a fear.

well its been this way for at least a week
    and im in Ca USA

you see most time I was on wifi so I never really paid attention
but when I was out in the field I kept noticing the errors and not opening pages
but I figured maybe I was in a bad area since I was working in the same place for that week
but now it happens everywhere and only with there browser

maybe tomorrow it will be better, but im still calling if its not

I use my data 99% of my plan
I never talk on the phone
95% is e mail and web browsing
    4% texts
so if I cant use my internet why even have the phone

I answered your question about recent outages/problems with the servers.

They actually don't state that it couldn't have happened to users in North America, they list where major outages occured. If you look at this thread, Anybody experiencing BIS problems?, various users on different carriers are having BIS problems in North America.

Virgin Mobile also has a history of non-stellar BIS service so I wouldn't be surprised if it was their fault.
Yes, using the default broswer has to go through BlackBerry servers, that's why Opera is much faster in this situation.

yeah that other thread seems like e mail
so far the 8 email accounts I have on my phone all worked but I had noticed later today took about 40 min for some e mails I sent myself to pop up on the phone
    usually those are instant
