8520 help needed urgently!!!

Hey all, haven't looked around the forum yet as im trying to get ready for work lol BUT my problem here is this,

My friend gave me his curve 8520 to fix, "apparently" its got a 513 error? i havent seen this personally but all i can tell you is that it wont boot under any circumstances whats so ever, it sometimes connects to the pc via usb and proceeds to boot upto just over half way then freezes, turns off and continues the process until you disconnect it from a power source or the pc.

ive downloaded jl commander and the new desktop thingy and i think i downloaded the OS for 02 uk aswell, tried doing stuff with the apploader and it finds the curve's usb pin thingy but then decides to tell me it cant connect to the device

sorry for being so scatty with the information but im new to all this and im hoping so genoius can tell me what to do on here.

How do you mean "combining" itself with other themes? What exactly are yo usseing?

you have all the right stuff to fix it does the bb have a password on it

you also need the right os software so if the phone was originally on o2 then you should be ok however if it was on orange or voda tmobile ect then u need to download that software and install that one b4 the apploader .exe will work properly the reason i know this is because i have done a couple of times my self.

i have the latest o2 OS, its jsut that the blackberry wont appear to connect on the bbsak or apploader.exe not sure what to do as i dont really want to go through the hassle to send it back, i really wanna try and sort this out myself if i can, i think i have the right software and stuff but not sure why its not connecting to anything, just loads the blackberry and white bar 75% of the way then hangs and the reboots and repeats until i take it off charge.
