Im looking at unlocking a blackberry 8520 and after i type mepd i get everything disabled there, then after that when i am supposed to type mep2 (i tried with alt+e and without) i do not get any sort of dialog box were i can enter a mep code to unlock the handset.

Any ideas?

If it shows Network as Disabled the phone is already unlocked. This would be the reason you do not get the box to enter the code.
