is there a theme that will get rid of the 1XEV beside my signal bars and replace it with the 3g BB sign like the bold 9700?

That would be pretty cool if they could release a 8530 one. I know I wish I could get a lot of the tour themes for my phone.

not that i can think of. i think the only way is the old fashion way, upgrade to os 5.0!

Afaik, without a theme modification only GSM users see the "3G" symbol. CDMA sees "1XEV"

Well, I just try it on my 8520. But it doesn't work. The theme doesn't shows up on my list. Does it compatible with 8520 OS 5.0

who do you think made boon basic lol? almost every 3g theme on here in the 8530 section is made by me or fdb8231, has the 3g symbol.

GSM users are not the only ones who get the 3G symbol on their phone. I'm Verizon and I have 3G on mine. The new BB's that are using the 5.0 OS (officials), not hybrids, get the 3G symbol now. There are some 8500 themes out there that some themers have made that adjustment for it to say 3G for people like the OP who have the 1XEV. They'll just have to do a little digging in this forum, but I've seen them.

There is a crackberry user that is really good with themes and can change the 1XEV icon on your phone regardless if the phone is CDMA or not... I think. Hes done a few themes around here his name is D.R.E.W or something close to that . . find one of hes themes in the forums and send him a message.

I'm pretty sure boondocker puts it in his themes. Do a search for his threads in this forum. You'll find a couple in here. I have the change but don't use it unless requested.

You are correct. But since you upgrade to 5.0 you can use any of these 8530 themes. Check out the ones That are posted by Boondocker and I. They will give you 3g instead of 1xev.

it only shows up on the 8530/8520 and not the 8330 even though your on os 5.0
