    Hey all,

I came accross this theme on the forums and just wanted to know your input on it - http://forums.crackberry.com/f126/pr...-4-5-a-244753/

It looks really cool, but I don't want anything that will slow my berry down. I have 4.5.0.77, the original OS on my Curve from Verizon.

    Thanks!

Looks pretty clean, but when it comes down to themes they are all preference. Look for something that will work best for you in terms of what is most important and then go from there.

I would also recommend you ditch .77 and jump on a newer OS. I put .160 on the gf's 8330 and its awesome.

Overall, I am okay with .77 as an OS, but I was thinking of changing things up with a new theme...this one looks cool!

That is a great theme and it runs very well on the Curve, my other favorite is the 8900 Replica theme, available in the CrackBerry store...

Which theme is great on the Curve? Is it Curve Precision Zen (95xx-Like for 83xx OS4.5) that is awesome and works well or is it Precision Pro?

Also, what do I need to do before/after I install the theme. I am new to this LOL

Also, is it better than the Verizon theme I currently have? I just don't want to screw up my phone...

I personally use the Precision Pro theme and its great! I'm a big fan of simple and clean and that's exactly what this theme does. I've had it for a week or two and I haven't had any problems with it..try it out and see if you like it!

Everyone else was talking about Curve Precision Zen (95xx-Like for 83xx OS4.5) - I think I am the only one who kept the Verizon theme with the wallpaper LOL Which one is the best? Precision Pro or Precision Zen? I DON'T want bugs though.

All you have to do is go onto the thread containing the OTA link for the theme using your BB and download it, then go to Options>Theme> precision_83xx full (if you get the precision pro theme)

I haven't found any bugs with the Pro theme so far, but I like the Pro theme for its Today version. I'm not a big fan of Zen :/

I love Zen, but I just cannot figure out which one is the best...Precision Pro or Curve Precision Zen (95xx-Like for 83xx OS4.5) and what are the downsides to downloading a theme?

There's not really any downsides except them taking up a very small amount of memory space on your BB. And the best one depends on your taste in themes.

I've been using the Precision Pro theme and really enjoy it. Like a nice clean look for my BB. Haven't tried the Zen one yet.

Just looking at the two themes I would recommend the Precision Zen because it has so many options...I currently use the Precision Pro but I think I'm going to switch to Zen...

*BTW* If you decide to download the Zen theme, it recommends a battery pull after you download the theme.

Hey thanks for the kind words all. I've worked VERY hard to eliminate all bugs on my Precision Pro theme and it runs extremely well on 4.5.0.77 since that's what I use for my own OS.

I haven't used the other theme menioned but I'm sure it's a great choice also! As mentioned, the links to all 5 versions of the Pro theme are OTA, so navigate there with your BB browser and simply click the link under the version of your choice to download.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

What do I do before I download a theme? Any prep work?

Battery pull (or QuickPull). I just downloaded it but I forgot to do a battery pull and it worked but just to be on the safe side you should do a battery pull after installation.

So, now I need to figure out what theme to get. I don't understand Curve Precision Zen (95xx-Like for 83xx OS4.5) - it has "Weather" but I don't understand what that means. There are so many different OTA downloads for it.

"Weather" is just an extra slot for an app above the regular bottom dock where you can put your weather app. I use BerryWeather so I put it in that slot and the BeWeather icon tells me the weather. You can put any app you want there though.

So if I use The Weather Channel shortcut I don't need that, right?
