I just finished making this theme for my own use, with the following features:

- A two row bottom dock with 14 icons!
- Various today area or just icon options.
- Blackberry storm icons with my own addition of an animated hourglass.
- Smaller, clearer fonts to maximize the amount of information on screen.

I agree, the homescreen is extremely busy. This theme was based on my own wants and needs for a theme and I like to have everything I need right there on the homescreen. I hope that the 'today preview area' in 4.6 OS makes it to the curve soon as it will make things a lot cleaner.

Before finalizing this theme I spent a fair amount of time in composer trying out various ways of hiding the icons but couldn't find anything where the performance was acceptable with that many. Hoping I'll crack this one in the future.

So, just 16 icons but not calendar or message display. I'll see what I can do! It will need to have at least 3 rows as 7 icons a row is the absolute tightest squeeze, so you could have 21 if you want?

I've been wanting to achieve this myself too, watching one of the demo videos on RIM's site it looks like it may be possible in OS 4.6 when that comes to the 83xx.

For everyone who has enjoyed this theme, I wanted to post a sneak peek of the new theme I'm working on. It's called 'Red Planet' and features some custom homescreen items such as a full screen banner and some other neat things.

Here's a pic of my current progress:



I have quite a few bugs to iron out (caused by the new features) so I'm not sure when it will be out, I want to thoroughly test it before release.

just curious, how exactly did you get the font to be green when writing a text? i was messing with plazmic and i couldn't figure out which area to set the coloring of the font (if you dont mind sharing)

Don't mind at all, you need to change the font color for lists on the dialog page and/or on the messages page. Not in front of my PC right now so I can't confirm which.
