Default 8330 reset; will it wipe out installed theme?

I have an 8330 running OS 5 with the Precision Zen theme that I installed. If I do a wipe (reset), I know OS 5 will still be there, and not revert to 4.5. But, will the Precision Zen theme still be there, or will that have to be reinstalled?

Thanks!

Brett

Precision Zen is part of the OS. It will still be there.

Thank you...so even though I installed it, it wasn't installed when I upgraded from 4.5 to 5.0, it will still be there?

It's listed under Add-Ons, and I do have the option to remove it.

I downloaded it OTA.....

Thanks!

If you have an app or theme that you downloaded to the phone after the install of the OS, then it should disappear when you wipe.

You may be able to back it up and then restore it using a utility like BBSAK.

If it's coded for OS4.x this won't work, most themes (if not all) are OS-specific. May have to check and see if the theme is upgradeable from wherever it was downloaded from, or has a OS5 version.

Hello. Thanks..this one is coded and made specifically for 5.0. Actually, from what I've read its the stock theme. I have saved the .cod, and made a .jad file using BBSAK. Once I reset the phone, and load everything back on, I should be able just to load either the .cod, or the .jad file back on to my Curve using BBSAK. At least that how it appears in BBSAK.

Thanks!

Easiest to just push the cod with BBSAK. I have found that creating jad files with BBSAK is a pretty exact science, meaning I haven't been too successful getting them to work. Have you done it before?

No, I haven't done it. Well, I too tried, but could never get it to work. I pushed the .cod, and it worked great. I also found an OTA link.

I'm trying to have the least dependency to the computer as possible. So I've been trying to find ways to back up as much as possible to the SD card instead of using the PC. If I could just save the URL links to the OTA downloads to my SD card....hmmmm...

Thanks!

I wiped my BB this morning, and wiped everything out. Was surprised to find the theme was still there! Good news!

Thanks!
