I've never noticed this option. I found it under Options/advanced. I just upgraded my OS to 4.5. Is this new with the new OS?

If I click on it, it says: The wireless upgrade process consists of three steps: requesting the new software, downloading the software, and then upgrading the software on your Blackberry device.

Then you get a "next" button.

Does anyone know what this is for?

    Thanks!

if verizon decides to support it you will be able to do software upgrades in the future without having to hook up to a pc

So it's not active now? Sounds like a great idea if it ever gets activated.

Yep I have had this option for a while now, doesn't do anything nor will it until RIM or the provider flips a switch.

I think this option is there when you first install the upgrade, but disappears when you reboot your BB.

I have AT&T and I have that option under Advanced Option...but it says I don't have any updates, yet my buddy who has T-Mobile had updates. Once again, AT&T is behind the times.
