I've done both but it's been a while and I can't remember. Will it reset all my current settings on my phone? I've done a lot of hiding apps, bookmarking webpages, and other stuff. I just don't want to lose all that. I'm more than positive you guys/gals out there have an answer. Thanks in advance.

If you run a backup before upgrading you won't lose anything.

Backup third party apps as well.

How do I go about doing that? I've never done a backup before.

Backup you open desktop manager and click backup and follow the instructions, for backing up all your 3rd party apps go to the faq section look for the "How to backup 3rd party apps" thread
