I have an insured BB 8330 with Sprint. I have had to replace mine a few times for some problems. It seems that they are not even offering the 8330 now days at the Sprint Store. Will Sprint ever start offering the new curve as a refurbished replacement for my phone if it becomes damaged? God, I hope so!

There's probably a good supply of reburbished Curves out there.

if they actually ran out of refurbs they would have to replace it with a phone of equal or greater value, so the new curve would be the likely decision.

but by the time that happens, i'm sure you will have been able to use an upgrade on your line so it wont really matter

Had a MotoQ (the first gen model) and had to use insurance to replace several time up until dec 09, they were still coming up with units for a phone almost four years after they quit making them. So no 8330's will not run out any time soon =)
