    I would say yes, however, if you make any calls it will cost you two arms and a leg. International roaming gets costly quick!

    The 8330 is CDMA only and in Australia they use GSM.

    I wasn't sure if they had a CDMA carrier as well, not every carrier outside of the United States is GSM...

    I think they have 3GCDMA too but it requires a sim card. That's what someone told me. But Verizon has great customer service, they will lend him a phone.

    If you're going to be in the country for an extended period of time, I prefer GSM. If you're just visiting for a couple weeks, call Verizon CS and they will tell you if the area you're going to will have coverage for you.

    They are starting to use both. Them and NZ.
