I am debating on leaving my tour back for my 8330. Will the curve get 5.0? or at least 4.7?

From what I have read here on crackberry, the curve will not get 5.0. the phone is slightly dated and has limitations that may not support a more robust OS. Of course, you never know......there are a lot of curve owners out there!

The 8350 runs 4.7. I would imagine the processor and memory are the same. Can anyone confirm.

I would really hope they are going to release it because the 8330 is still fairly new

Marc34- why are you so quick to leave the tour? After following everyone's rants and raves about it, I'm just surprised that you're not satisfied. Could you give details on your experience?

Sounds like you have issues with change? Give it a few weeks.

I hated my 8330, now one month later I'm comfortable with it.

But according to RIM's specs, the Tour is 0.2in wider and only 16g heavier.
-Still a good bit smaller/lighter than an 8830 or Bold.....

I am hoping the Curve will get 4.7. I do not see why it wouldn't. The phone was only released around May of last year... I just got it about 2 weeks ago and I love it. I do want the Tour but it isn't something I can afford right now, and to be honest I am perfectly happy with the Curve and have invested a lot of money in accessories and software for it.

Well...if even 1 carrier releases a new OS for our curves, I'm sure we'll have all hacked it to the other carriers in no time. Now we just have to see if its "M" compatible...

    My curve is running fine.
Just to wrap this up, there is just no WOW factor for me. If the curve can get 4.7 or better yet 5.0 OS then I think I would rather have the curve and save my upgraded for another BB down the road
You know, that's alot like how I feel. But I don't know why.The Tour is a better device, more memory, faster processor, better camera,etc..I followed it's progress a long time and was excited to finally see it out but I agree,my 8330 with at least OS 4.7 could keep me satisfied for awhile longer.

What are the major differences from 4.7 from 4.5? Will 5.0 be that much better than 4.7 or even 4.5?

Don't know about the processor but the 8350i does have more internal memory.I think 128mb vs the 8330's 96mb.

I love my curve! I messed around with a tour yesterday and honestly it didn't really WOW me. I'll stick with my curve for a while until a brand spanking new refreshed BB comes out

Yea I'm very satisfied with my Curve and I'm glad a few of you weren't sucked into the hype with the Tour. I think someone said that "the tour isn't for someone coming from a curve" and I agree. It just doesn't have the type of "upgrade" I'm looking for for the price that it costs. I surely hope we can get an os upgrade tho
