I started the OS Update on my BB Curve 8300 today.
I've read that it may take awhile to do the whole installation, but I've been on Step 2 of 10 ("Back Up Device Data") for about an hour now, and it shows no sign of wanting to go on to Step 3.
What should I do? I don't want to ruin this phone like I've ruined my BB Pearl in the past by Upgrading the OS.

Well, you have options. You can pull the plug and brick your BB now, or wait some more, and most likely end up doing the first option.

How comfortable are you in recovering a bricked BB?

I'm not too comfortable with it, that's how I lost my first one.
It turns out that my waiting was nothing but wasted time. All I had to do was click a button on the phone so it'd get re-recognized, and then unlock my phone by typing in the password. After that it started the back-up. And it's almost done updating
