I think I may have bent my memory card hatch beyond repair trying to insert my memory card. It must not be seated properly because when I try to format it says "Memory card format error". Hopefully nothing is broken and not fixable. Thanks.

Sounds like another problem. Apparently the phone is "seeing" the memory card if it says it detects an error. I've seen people insert memory cards without the door with just the battery holding it in - and it works!
