Im kind of new and I keep reading that blackberries are horrible for being memory hogs, how do I know that I am maintaining a good amount of memory?

You're fortunate to have an 8330. You have 50% more memory to start with than any other user with an 81xx, 83xx, or 88xx phone. As long as you stay above 12 000 000 bytes free, you'll be fine. The CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that's linked in my sig is a good resource, both for freeing up memory and learning how the OS functions. Recommended.
