Since Verizon has discontinued the 8330, will BB/VZW still make upgrades for the OS and will apps (3rd party apps, themes, etc.) and things still be compatible with it and made for it? I am really hoping my device doesn't become obsolete.......I haven't even had it a year and I really love it.

Mine is being replaced because of bbm 5.0 errors.....
Verizon tech support has told me on numerous times in the past two weeks that stores will not have refurbs, etc.
Since they are not stopping the sale of the model, all replacements will be dealt with via CS over the phone.
Do not expect anymore upgrades for it from verizon.
Personally, BBM 5.0 is great, but shouldn't have been released on the 8330.
I love the device, but it IS showing it's age.

I'm glad I got my 8330 from sprint, bc its almost done with, I only have to wait a year for upgrades instead of two yrs. Now just 7 months to go.

No offense but if you got the 8330 a year ago it was already obsolete. Lol

Sprint just released a small OTA update for the 8330's so it seems like they still want to make it run good.
